100 People Listening: A Shared Decade is a unique commission, initially funded by the Pew Center for Arts & Heritage with additional support from Mural Arts Philadelphia, Creative Philadelphia, the Mayor’s Office of Faith Based Initiatives and Interfaith Affairs, and the Mayor’s Office of Muslim Engagement. 100 people from across Philadelphia’s racial, economic, social, and political landscape will empathetically listen to one another in ten structured conversations, a year apart for ten years. A citywide public awareness campaign devoted to the inherent civic value of active listening complements the annual conversations.
